What is Aresti
Vina Aresti group which is part of Aresti Chile Wine (ACW), was founded by Vicente Aresti Astica, alongside his father-in-law Alfredo López in 1951. He obtained the Bellavista Estate, an infamous wine-growing valley in Curicó, which is located in Molina, less than 200 kilometers south of Santiago, Chile and started building his family tradition of excellence in winemaking with passion at the core of their philosophy. With their passionate core philosophy in wine-making and meticulous labour for more than half a century, Aresti now produces some of the most high-quality wines and was labeled as one of the most prestigious wineries during the time. In addition to this, the Mediterranean climate, alluvial soil, long periods of dry seasons and a temperature differential of about 20ºC during the day and night, were also key factors to affecting the production and exceptional quality of Aresti Wine. Back in the days, Vicente Aresti bottled and sold wines with labels of their own and only in 1999, where the winery went through renovations and the state-of-the-art technology was introduced that the company started producing and exporting bottled wine, which are now available internationally. After the passing of Aresti’s founder, Vicente Aresti Astica (age 92), the third generation, Begoña and Ana María Aresti López took over their father’s endeavor and persevere in the commitment they had learned from him in wine-making. As of today, Aresti has also expanded their vineyards’ estate near the Claro river covering areas such as Micaela, Peñaflor, and La Reserva. When it comes to Aresti’s wines, each component of the final blend is aged in French oak barrels for 18 months, where the oak tannins are able to round out the palate, creating a lasting, smooth finish. It then slowly ages in the underground cellar after being bottled, where it reaches the perfect balance of flavours and aromas. It has a deep cherry-red colour, powerful aromas with toasted overtones of sweet vanilla and notes of chocolate, tobacco and mint. Ripe red cherry and berry on the palate while chocolate notes add depth and complexity. Abundant oak tannin round out the palate and create a long, smooth finish.
